Sulla serie tv e tutto quello che ci fa venire in mente

Nuova forma di narrazione capace di rispecchiare il tempo e lo spazio frammentati della nostra esistenza, luogo di dialoghi occasionali, specchio di analisi della società contemporanea, la serie televisiva è una possibilità di incontro e racconto che s’insinua negli spazi liberi della vita quotidiana facendoci scorrere dove, quando e per quanto tempo vogliamo lontani dalla realtà. La narrazione che la serie pone in essere è complessa e sperimentale in quel suo modo di definirsi nel rapporto con l’altro, caratterizzata da un linguaggio ‘nomade’ che si costruisce puntata dopo puntata, elaborando e producendo nuovi miti e rituali. Il laboratorio pone al centro dell’ideale cerchio di partecipanti il fenomeno delle serie come una scatola chiusa da aprire, decostruire, condividere nei suoi diversi significati culturali e personali. I primi due giorni saranno dedicati all’analisi strutturale e simbolica delle opere/serie che hanno e stanno facendo la storia del fenomeno. Le riflessioni prodotte saranno impiegate nei giorni successivi nella creazione di una puntata pilota di una serie forse scritta, sicuramente interpretata dai partecipanti, completamente immaginata a partire dagli incontri e rituali quotidiani condivisi insieme nella residenza nella casa Cafausica.
Le riprese saranno realizzate da Mauro Piccinini, autore del progetto in progress hourinterview, basato su interviste rivolte ad artisti e protagonisti del settore creativo. In occasione del laboratorio, Piccinini condividerà con i partecipanti la sua esperienza, proponendo una riflessione sul rapporto tra realtà e finzione nel genere documentario e nelle serie televisive.
Il laboratorio si collega al progetto The Serialist, un ciclo di mostre dedicato alla serie televisive, e il materiale prodotto durante la residenza sarà presentato in occasione della prima mostra che si terrà a Roma, presso il Centro Luigi Di Sarro, a ottobre 2017.

The Tv Series represents a new form of narrative capable of reflecting the time and the fragmented space of our existence, a site of occasional dialogues, a mirror of contemporary society analysis. Its very concept inhabits in the possibility of the encounter in a place between the free spaces of everyday life where we can wander away from reality.
The narration that the series has created is complex and experimental starting from its way to define itself in relationship with the other through a ‘nomadic’ language that is always in construction elaborating and producing new myths and rituals.
The core of the workshop will be the circle of participants in order to deconstruct the phenomenon of the series as a closed box to open and share in its various cultural and personal meanings. The first two days will be devoted to the structural and symbolic analysis of the works/series that created the history of the phenomenon.
The reflections produced will be used in the following days for the creation of a pilot episode or a screenplay, interpreted by the participants, fully imagined from the meetings and daily rituals shared together in the residence at Cafausica.
The shootings will be realized by Mauro Piccinini, author of the project hourinterview, based on a series of interview and surveys on creative industry and artists’s practices. During the workshop, Piccinini will share his experience with the participants, proposing a reflection on the relationship between reality and fiction in documentary genres and television series.
The lab is connected to the The Serialist project, a program of exhibitions dedicated to the television series, and the material produced during the residence will be presented at the first exhibition to be held in Rome, at Luigi Di Sarro Center, in October 2017.
